I AM CHAI

And I am Mexican.

At 16 years old I discovered my connection with Tibetan culture when I read Fire Under the Snow by Palden Gyatso.

Then I became an activist for Tibet for a few years.

After graduating from university (I'm an interior designer), I also became certified in Vinyasa Krama Yoga after eight years of prior practice. At the same time, I enrolled in the study program at Casa Tibet Mexico.

When I was 28 years old I traveled to India and Nepal for the first time; this was a dream I had since I was 18.

I attended the Kalachakra initiation with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 2014 and then lived for 6 months in Boudhanath, Nepal, studying and doing retreats with my teacher Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche.

That trip changed my life.

Since then I have returned to the Himalayas to do solitary meditation retreats and pilgrimages following the sacred sites of my teacher Guru Rinpoche.

And so Himalaya Path was born, with the desire to share the wonderful contemplative energy of these mountains.
